You can customize the email address used to send download emails for each order - this will improve deliverability and customers will recognize your domain name.

Step 1. Add your preferred email address

In FileJar, under Settings > Email > Email Sender replace the default email address with the address of your choice.

This should be a branded address from a domain name that you own and control (e.g. [email protected] is a valid address, [email protected] is not)

Step 2. Collect the DNS settings

Below the Email Sender settings a warning will appear that you first need to verify your domain before we can use the email address to send emails on your behalf. Click on Verify your domain. This will open a popup with the required DNS settings.

Step 3. Log in to your domain registrar

In a separate window you need to log in to your domain registrar (GoDaddy, NameCheap, Shopify, Cloudflare etc.) and locate the page where you can add new DNS Records (this can sometimes be named DNS Settings)

Step 4. Add the DNS records

There are 3 DNS records you will need to create: one TXT and two CNAME records.

One by one, create each record, choosing the correct type (TXT or CNAME), then copy the name and the value from the FileJar popup.

Step 5. Verify

Once you've added all 3 records, wait for a few minutes for the changes to propagate across the Internet then click on the Verify button. Please note that in most cases the verification should be complete within a few minutes, however some domain registrars can take up to 72 hours to record your DNS changes.
